People of Purpose and Associates is offering a business that will be sustainable and benefit the whole communities regarding houseless camps. We would like folks who are living in the camps to be a part of participating in their own wellness, helping to alleviate some of the burden for city and community responsibilities by providing this service. Cleaning and protecting our environment are a concern to all.

Three trucks will be purchased with 2 employees on each truck. Houseless folks would be given an incentive of five dollars per bag of trash that is picked up at their site. There will be designated sites at houseless camps for pickups; trucks will be loaded with trash at campsites and at that time houseless folks would receive five dollars per bag. These bags will be divided into the required disposal according to the standard rules set by the city. All trash and recycled materials will be taken to proper locations.

Communities would also be able to call in to report houseless campsites that may be impacting their business, or residential area where they live; also, we would focus on camps on freeway’s and bike trails. People of Purpose and Associates have become aware that trash and litter has impacted our whole city including our once vibrant downtown tourist areas. Once we took pride in folks coming to enjoy Portland and what we have to offer in the way of adventure, fun and the best in cuisine that restaurants could offer.  Portland was once thriving, day or evening out for fun, but in the midst of the tall buildings and nice areas many blocks are  looking like a shantytown and it is impacting our whole city.

People of Purpose and Associates are planning to make a difference before it gets so far out of hand that we lose it all together. In seeing the trash everywhere and realizing it is going to take many of us to help with getting a handle on a growing problem. Most any place you go now you will encounter debris of littered used needles and other drug paraphernalia which can cause danger to our children and adults.

Portland Hauling and Junk Removal, Wood Waste Management, Waste Management Oregon Healthcare Solutions, Waste Xpress Hazardous Waste Disposal and Arrow Sanitary Service to partner with us.
